I do not have relatives/friends to stay with in Manila and will need the assistance of TOS in finding alternative housing during my stay in the city. I will need the assistance of TOS in finding housing: (Check all that apply).

Language Proficiency

Upon arrival in Manila, participants will be tested for Tagalog proficiency and assigned classes according to skill level. Please indicate what you think your Tagalog proficiency level will be at the start of the TOS Summer/Fall Program:

Note: TOS will try to accommodate its participants’ food needs due to health reasons (e.g. allergies) but cannot guarantee that it can meet everyone’s food preferences.

Personal Statement

Write a statement about yourself. Include any information that you think would be of interest to the admissions committee in evaluating your application. Please answer the following questions. (Your essay should be at least 500 words)

  1. Why is joining Tagalog On Site important to you?
  2. How would joining the program enhance your personal growth?
  3. Describe some of your extra-curricular activities (e.g. membership in organizations both in-campus and in the community outside of school, volunteer work, etc.)
  4. What are your future plans? What type of work do you see yourself in the future?
  5. How would TOS complement your future plans?

Insurance


It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that he/she is adequately covered by medical and accident insurance for the duration of his or her stay in the Philippines

Deposit

Upon acceptance to the program participants will be required to give a non-refundable $400 deposit to hold their slot. This deposit will be used for pre-arrival preparations such as board and lodging advances, orientation material purchases, etc. The deposit will be applied toward the total program fee of $2,598.00. All participants are expected to have paid in full by the start of the TOS program.
